MERIDIAN LIVESTOCK COMMISSION, WHERE BUYERS & SELLERS MEET EVERY MONDAY
The Meridian Livestock Commission sale barn has been a family-owned livestock auction facility in Bosque County since the 1960s.
The Domel family has owned and operated the livestock facility since 1984. MLC strives to provide a safe clean environment for producers to sell their livestock. Current buyers represent all the local statewide order buying companies and packing houses. Mainly selling cattle, with the occasional sheep and goat.
A weekly livestock market report is emailed weekly upon request.
Market Comments
Buyers are cautious with rising feed cost & very limited grazing. Cattle futures are up one day & down the next. Good rains will help all classes of cattle.
A good rule of thumb about when to buy & sell cattle: “Buy when you got grass, sell when you don’t.” -Eugene Schwertner
