On January 22, 2019, the Texas Board of Legal Specialization awarded board certification to Calvin Cowan. Sanderford & Carroll, P.C. is proud to be the only Texas firm outside of the major metropolitan areas of Houston, Dallas, Fort Worth, San Antonio and Austin to be home to three Board Certified construction attorneys.
January 2019-following a week long jury trial, Calvin Cowan secured a favorable verdict for an asphalt paving subcontractor against a general contractor. The general contractor originally sued the subcontractor for breach of contract alleging defective work. The subcontractor defended and pursued counterclaims for breach of contract, quantum meruit and attorney’s fees against the general contractor. The jury awarded the subcontractor 100% of the money damages sought and denied all of the general contractor’s claims.

Allen Wilson & Brian Carroll will address the American Council of Independent Laboratories Annual Meeting on October 5, 2018. The primary topic of Mr. Wilson’s and Mr. Carroll’s address will be “Killer Contract Clauses.”
Allen Wilson presented a one hour ethics lecture at the 2018 Texas Institute of Continuing Legal Education’s Basic Course in Texas Construction Law. His presentation introduced the perils encountered by practitioners, key strategies and day-to-day law practice management tips.
