Shallow Ford Construction has extensive experience in design build on both private and public projects. Several years ago the US Army Corps of Engineers adopted the Multiple Area Task Order Contract (MATOC) contracting method. In order to shorten the project delivery duration the majority of these projects were contracted using the design build delivery method.
We have had the opportunity to be a team member on numerous design build projects. Our services include developing an initial budget based on preliminary plans with the goal of achieving balanced sites and then guiding the project engineer to develop the final construction plans so that final pricing stay within the original budgets. This includes ensuring a balanced site to reduce import/export costs, reviewing plans, details, and specifications to ensure compliance while eliminating unnecessary details and specifications that would increase costs unnecessarily.
